To find the volume

Write the formula down. V = pi( r ) h
Write the numbers from the problem underneath the letters of the formula.
Calculate
Volume problems ask for cubic ---inches etc. or simply ask for the volume.
Example
What is the volume of a cylinder with Diameter = 14 cm.; Height = 10 is 1538.60 . use 3.14 for pi

V = pi( r ) h
V = 3.14 (7)(7)(10
one half of the diameter is the radius
V = 1538.60 cubic centimeters
